Project Objective:
With IKEA as a mock client, I was tasked to design a lighting feature that would help IKEA break into the tech realm by incorporating "Internet of Things" technology. For me, IKEA's iconic line of children's lighting is pure nostalgia, and as such, the most whimsical and exciting space to design an IKEA product in.
Outfitted with an RGB sensor, the handheld creature can capture the colours of a child's world and store them for use in a digital painting/colour theory game partner app. When put back onto its leafy-light dwelling, it transfers the captured colour as LED light output of the wall light. This fun, quirky creature offers creativity, education and the ability for the child to change their personal environment with the wonderful world of colour!
